Since returning from yesterday morning's walk in the rain (without head cover) my condition turned for the worse! I am only now beginning to recover after over 24 hours.
The positive outcome emerging is that I did wake up naturally at 0400hrs this morning, although I was in no condition to input anything here. I hope this pattern now stabilises.
