Here's my latest note (written or rather completed yesterday):
The Women of #AJK and the UK Government's Apparent Inability to Distinguish between Motives of Conflict & Peace
Women of this territory have proved to be the choreographers of this exemplary peaceful #RightsMovementAJK , now into its 4th year.
As Day 39 (13 July 2026) of this totally needless war imposed on AJK draws to a close, we are nowhere near a resolution. We will continue to indefinitely wait and see out this wanton aggression by the Pakistani State, courtesy of our women choreographing the design & pace of this movement.
In AJK, we are all sick and tired of conflict repeatedly being imposed on us, since that deliberately hurried British colonial 'power transition' in 1947. Our women understand better than their men, on how to navigate us all out of this provocation and achieve a lasting peace, using purely peaceful means.
Universally speaking, women lose more in conflict relative to men and benefit more from peace. Thus, their stakes are much higher by all measures.
It is our women who are insisting that this war is a final miserable attempt by Pakistan to try and formally drag us into a debt infested, ungovernable and conflict addicted country. It is a war we cannot afford to lose, they repeatedly warn.
When some of our menfolk decided to return home from the central sit-in protest at Eidgaah, in the village of Dreak, Rawalakot, Poonch a few days ago; their womenfolk were astonished to see them return home before resolution and demanded that they immediately return to Rawalakot. Adding that if their menfolk needed money, foodstuff, medicine or anything else for the public at large, then to state those needs clearly. Upon listing of those needs by the men, all the women of the said area immediately got together to raise the required funds and duly sent their menfolk back to Rawalakot!
Many peaceful processions throughout AJK have been led by women in their thousands. It is the women of this territory that are standing up to the fake local political representatives, that have usurped public funds for their own private interests since 1947, by stopping them in their tracks as they farcically campaign for general elections, whilst the rest of AJK continues to go through the motions of an enforced communications & commercial lockdown.
It is the women of this territory who are marshalling the 6 sit-in protests surrounding Rawalakot city evey afternoon. It is they who are ensuring our menfolk remain peaceful at all costs and wait this out. "The occupiers will tire much before us", they never fail to remind us.
The United Kingdom's Legal Responsibilities
Let's all now focus on the United Kingdom, which according to various UK MPs has moral, historic & legal responsibility to resolve this issue. We reference Imran Hussain MP Bradford East & chair of All Parties Parliamentary Group on Kashmir (APPGK) along with 5 other MPs on 11 December 2025, as follows:
6 MPs (Richard Burgon, Tahir Ali, Imran Hussain, Jeremy Corbyn (background), ? & Ayoub Khan.
Here's the transcription of what Imran Hussain said:
"The right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir cannot be ignored any longer. The UK government has a moral, historic & legal duty and we must move away from treating this as a bilateral issue and uphold our moral obligations and treat this as an international issue."

My question is:
When is the United Kingdom going to fulfill its legal responsibility?
If there ever was an opportune moment for the United Kingdom to fulfill its legal responsibility, it is now. In fact, it is already 39 days (and counting) late in responding appropriately.
For us students of British colonial history, we totally understand why the United Kingdom has always been reluctant to make amends for facilitating the entry of Indian & Pakistani forces into Jammu & Kashmir in October 1947, in total contravention of its own 'power transition' document viz. Indian Independence Act passed by its own parliament on the 18th of July 1947.
Please do read this independent researcher's letter to the Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales on the 31st of March 2021, written from jail in Mirpur and yet to have received a response, despite ample attempts with documentary proof.
We also intimately understand why the government of the United Kingdom is trying to equate the conflict addicted security framework of Pakistan with our exemplary peaceful movement - making basic demands just to survive - not to mention trying to come to terms with military aggression on a whole population.
We also understand why the UK's present stance on this matter contradicts its own statements of the past, which hitherto correctly referenced the people of Jammu Kashmir as arbiters of their own future. The UK has decided to follow the footsteps of India & now Pakistan by describing this 5 June Pakistani invasion as an "internal matter".
At this stage, we just wish to intimate that whatever positive contributions 'Western civilisation' has made to humanity over the past 5 centuries, is likely to be marred by this strategy to promote peace & diversity at home while participating in conflict and intolerance abroad.
It is never prudent to break the golden rule of humanity, paraphrased as "Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you."
Our people of Jammu Kashmir & Allied (areas) or #JKA (for short) - amongst other significant contributions - have heavily invested in 2 world wars on Great Britain's behalf and they greatly contributed to addressing the shortage of manpower in the UK's factories post 2nd world war.
It should be noted that the ancestors of the people of #JKA have hosted a pre-eminent global centre of learning at Sharda - in today's Neelam Valley in AJK - many centuries & even millenia before anybody ever heard of Oxford or Cambridge.
We cannot revive our heritage without agency in a perpetual conflict zone, with geographic rigidities more suited to the interests of empires of yesteryear. In such a structure, rather than providing #WaterManagement solutions to half the world's population from our territory, the very water that naturally flows downhill from here will increasingly become an unnecessary bone of contention for all the countries in our region. Not unlike the senseless conflict imposed by Pakistan on AJK, while the rest of the world pretends to be neutral spectators.
A #Conflict2Peace strategy has been operating in this territory for 2 decades and cannot be derailed just because the United Kingdom seems to favour a subtle assist of Pakistan in emulating India viz. 5 August 2019 to 5 June 2026.
We think it is time that you understand that a country created for conflict viz. Pakistan is never going to understand the nuances of government; let alone what the terms inclusivity, meritocracy, accountability or transparency mean.
The State of Pakistan's engagement with #JK #JAAC (Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee) over the past couple of years, has laid bare this reality. That a country of over 307,000 square miles of territory and a population amounting to possibly over 240 million - with at least 3 million government servants - cannot even produce 1 competent person to alleviate the genuine basic concerns of a territory merely 5,134 square miles in size, with barely half of its population of c. 5 to 6 million residing within its boundaries.
What ostensibly escapes the UK's comprehension, is this war beginning on the 5th of June 2026, was launched precisely to pull a curtain over Pakistan's habitual incompetency in matters of governance.
The United Kingdom should also be aware that at the outset of this latest imposed conflict, we intimated in both written & video broadcast form, that if the Pakistani State kills any of our people on this misadventure, it will be liable to pay £10 billion (UK pounds sterling) for each death. We all know how adept the Pakistanis are in managing their public finances. Many of us also remember the war indemnity the British Empire used to impose on their opponents. Except that this is a war where only one side (the invading side) is armed to the teeth against an exemplary peaceful population. The level of compensation must also be appropriate, in order to avert future conflict in this region.
Having written all that we have, we are not fixated with the incompetency of our neighbours or their well-wishers elsewhere. We are deeply focused on achieving a lasting peace through peaceful means, which our neighbours and the rest of the world have failed to deliver to our region since 1947, despite depriving us of such agency.
We began writing regularly to the UK government on the 3rd of June 2026 (2 days before this latest invasion) and we tried to approach the 11 or so UK MPs of AJK origin - as early as October of 2025 - to engage them in our #Conflict2PeaceStrategyJKA , knowing full well that the Pakistani State was inevitably preparing to launch its final attack on our identity and territory.
As the United Kingdom continues to show unwillingness to play a positive role in resolving this unnecessary conflict and has also ignored our repeated requests to send those 11 UK MPs of AJK origin to our territory - to play a conclusive mediating role - we will no longer hesitate to canvass UK citizens to effect a UK wide lockdown, anytime after the 18th of July 2026, which would effectively be Day 44 of the lockdown imposed on us by Pakistan.
While this writer was living in the United Kingdom and also subsequently during his 21 year long uninterrupted return to his motherland, he has heard and read notable British elders opining that many of the ill-conceived decisions made by Colonial Britain throughout the world, will rebound and inevitably affect the United Kingdom at home.
This is not what we want and we certainly never intend to inconvenience the peace and justice loving people of the United Kingdom. However, when our peaceful aims & objectives to reverse enduring colonial policy - that promotes conflict, division, hatred & ignorance - is being ignored by the UK government: we have no option but to exercise all possible peaceful means available to us, to ensure you - the United Kingdom - fulfil your legal responsibilities to resolve this totally unnecessary & meaningless conflict, which is taking our people's lives almost on a daily basis, since the 5th of June 2026.

"We have to accept (this fact) that the people (of AJK) have rejected this system (of governance).
I am a part of this system, as are all us 53 (members of the AJK Legislative Assembly).
Our higher (including supreme) courts are a part (of this system of governance), as is our bureaucracy and the public are a part of this (system of governance) too.
So the people have rejected this (system of governance).
And it isn't the case that Mir Sahaab (in reference to Shaukat Nawaz Mir) or Umar Nazir have put these words into people's mouths, the people are fed up as it is, of this whole (system of governance)....
We have a massacre of meritocracy here, we have a culture of (personal) recommendations, what I mean is there is maladministration here, right!
Here, in the capital Muzaffarabad the prime minister isn't (usually) present, neither are ministers (usually) present nor are other (relevant) people present here either.
So, this (breakdown of the system or wholesale rejection by the people) is the only result we could have expected!
When people's grievances are not addressed, when their issues are not taken seriously, then this is merely what we should have expected!
So, this system (of governance)....
