Daily Diary (DD) - Day 252 of 2021

1515hrs:

Logging a bit earlier today, in an attempt to remain ahead of the game:

Now, here's the actual programme:

........

I think it is always better and more informative for females to represent themselves on these issues. They should be heard and there a million horror stories just in AJK. Consider the following as a tip of the iceberg:

Daily Diary (DD) - Day 286 of 2019

1259hrs:

Today, I'm going to spend a bit more time at the dharna (sit-in protest) at Jaskol, about 7 kilometres from the LOC, where thousands of our co-citizens have camped or visited since the 6th of October.

I might even deliver a live video or two, if I get the opportunity.

We did try here but the connection was alas, not strong enough:

.....

Meanwhile, our female co-citizens do not want to be left behind in this pursuit of relieving Srinagar:

..........

Gilgit Baltistan needs as much attention as us, if not more:

........

Haveli, which is more commonly referred to as 'Forward Kahuta' faces similar repression to that of Gilgit Baltistan. Haveli is remote as well as surrounded by the Indian army on 3 sides (East, North and South):

Translated thus:

In Forward Kahuta the administration have imposed Section 144 and workers of PNA (People's National Alliance) have been arrested for the alleged crime of putting up posters (in public spaces).

Zoheb Arif, Tayyib Riaz, Zahid Hussain, Abdullah Haseeb and Mehboob ul Haq have been detained in the police station. PNA strongly demands that the arrested workers be released immediately

4 hours later:

Translated thus:

Kahuta: The fear of PNA (People's National Aliance). The (local) police released the political workers after detaining them for 4 hours. However, all pamphlets and flags were confiscated.

Repeated threats of kidnapping (of political workers) were made. Demanding one's rights here (in AJK) invokes force (repression from the State) and (a continuing) drama over the freedom of Srinagar.

.......

Although this footage was recorded a couple of days ago, it does have a good portion of English commentary by yours truly:

A press conference at Jaskol to update us all of the current status of JKLF's 'Freedom March' from Bhimber to Srinagar via Chakothi:

Daily Diary (DD) - Day 282 of 2019

1336hrs:

Yesterday's post was overlooked. When you're deeply involved in activity on the ground, as we are - 7 kilometres short of of the LOC at Chakothi - this is understandable.

.......

If I could convert 24 hours into 48 hours a day, I would have devoted half my time to Gilgit Baltistan. This is the next best thing. Cover them wherever and whenever possible:

..........

This was dreamt of 10 years ago, while breaking this cultural deadlock in AJK has taken almost 73 years:

Here's another example of coverage in Indian media of this historic event:

........

A day late and even later to upload to Youtube:

......

We thought of this together:

I have nothing to add....but am watching developments as closely as possible.

Daily Diary (DD) - Day 278 of 2026

1239hrs: Day 123 had a rhythm to it and a pattern. Most of AJK (including most of its entry points from the State of Pakistan) have been shu...
