Daily Diary (DD) - Day 287 of 2019

1819hrs:

Day 11 of the 'Freedom March' and Day 9 of camping out at Jaskol, 7 kilometres from the LOC.

After 12 co-citizens began a 24 hour hunger strike at 5 pm yesterday, another 28 co-citizens including 3 female citizens decided to conduct a similar hunger strike for 24 hours, which began at 10am this morning:

.....

This is amongst the more biting commentaries of Dr. Nazir Gilani:

........

Meanwhile, another large event (process possibly) is shaping up over the next few days. It's destination, the centre of power in AJK viz. Muzaffarabad:

This clip merits introspection:

Daily Diary (DD) - Day 286 of 2019

1259hrs:

Today, I'm going to spend a bit more time at the dharna (sit-in protest) at Jaskol, about 7 kilometres from the LOC, where thousands of our co-citizens have camped or visited since the 6th of October.

I might even deliver a live video or two, if I get the opportunity.

We did try here but the connection was alas, not strong enough:

.....

Meanwhile, our female co-citizens do not want to be left behind in this pursuit of relieving Srinagar:

..........

Gilgit Baltistan needs as much attention as us, if not more:

........

Haveli, which is more commonly referred to as 'Forward Kahuta' faces similar repression to that of Gilgit Baltistan. Haveli is remote as well as surrounded by the Indian army on 3 sides (East, North and South):

Translated thus:

In Forward Kahuta the administration have imposed Section 144 and workers of PNA (People's National Alliance) have been arrested for the alleged crime of putting up posters (in public spaces).

Zoheb Arif, Tayyib Riaz, Zahid Hussain, Abdullah Haseeb and Mehboob ul Haq have been detained in the police station. PNA strongly demands that the arrested workers be released immediately

4 hours later:

Translated thus:

Kahuta: The fear of PNA (People's National Aliance). The (local) police released the political workers after detaining them for 4 hours. However, all pamphlets and flags were confiscated.

Repeated threats of kidnapping (of political workers) were made. Demanding one's rights here (in AJK) invokes force (repression from the State) and (a continuing) drama over the freedom of Srinagar.

Although this footage was recorded a couple of days ago, it does have a good portion of English commentary by yours truly:

A press conference at Jaskol to update us all of the current status of JKLF's 'Freedom March' from Bhimber to Srinagar via Chakothi:

Daily Diary (DD) - Day 283 of 2019

1922hrs:

The momentum is getting stronger by the day...almost everything that has happened since the 5th of August has taken all of us by surprise....

We are now in a position to start uploading content....

.......

We understand that there has been very heavy cross-fire and shelling between India and Pakistan in various parts of the Neelam Valley today. Even Sharda is affected once again. Here's some specific news:

Areas affected:

- Sharda
- Khwaja Seri
- Dosut
- Tejian
- Dudhnial
- Lawaat

........

A history lesson won't go amiss amidst the cacophony of voices near the LOC at Jaskol, near Chakothi:

Translated thus:

On the night of the 24th of November (1947) and on the morning of the 25th of November (1947) the Pakistani army using cannons bombed the (old) city of Mirpur.

Alongside this bombing, tribal (Pathans) and the Pakistani army attacked Mirpur. The city's protective gates were thus broken, to facilitate their entry.

Doomsday broke out in Mirpur.

End of translation.....

.......

This sounds ominous but is very true:
