A terrible head, face, neck and tongue ache on the left side of my organs have created acute pain since yesterday evening. The pain only recedes if I stand up, sit down, face the sun or walk. If I lie down the pain will kick in almost immediately. Thus, I couldn't sleep a wink last night!

Whatever happens leading up to Pakistan's final dirty deed must be available for the record. This is a letter written today by eminent jurist and renowned expert on the UN template on JKA Dr. Nazir Gilani to the current prime minister of Pakistan. There will be consequences if Pakistan disregards its own (already flawed and assumed) reasoning for its presence in this territory, if it tries to emulate India's 5th August 2019 operation in the coming days and weeks of 2022:

The following address by the president of Mirpur District Lawyer's Bar Association Imtiaz Raja in Mirpur's main public square today clarifies the nationwide sentiment throughout AJK:

The points which are converging as the central tenets of the AJK-wide furore against Pakistan are as follows - as enunciated in the video above:

1) No to fuel price adjustment and other unwarranted taxes added to electricity bills.

2) No to proposed 15th amendment.

3) No to amended tourism act.

4) No to unwarranted arrests of citizens for raising their voices for their justified rights.

The following news doing the rounds in AJK today did startle me before prompting me to clarify whether such an announcement has actually been made officially, by the Conservative Party in the UK.

Now, we understand that Rehman Chisti became Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for North America, Sanctions and Consular Policy) on 8th July and that he was even in the running for PM but this news that he's become foreign minister does not have a news source. I presume that won't be decided until the new Conservative leader emerges? But I also presume he may still be a candidate for the foreign minister's role.

I'm inclined to estimate that genuine pressure on the British government is slowly mounting in reference to their unfulfilled responsibilities in Jammu Kashmir & Allied. Meanwhile, pressure is also mounting on the Pakistani government to stop prolonging this needless conflict by pursuing a territorial dispute with India. According to the prime minister of AJK, this is what negates the genuine pursuit of the right to self determination by the people of Jammu Kashmir & Allied:

Eid Mubarak to all those of you who are celebrating today and to all those who celebrated yesterday, wherever you are in the world.

I have learned from sources on the ground in Muzaffarabad that the Pakistani State's political representatives - in the shape of their Kashmir Committee - have been visible at the main Eidgah in the capital today. There is a sense brewing that the Pakistanis are preparing for something major on the 5th of August. They are of course being quite 'mum' about it. What is clear though is that whatever is brewing in the Pakistani mind in reference to AJK is unprecedented.

We also understand that the Kashmir Committee members will also be visiting the various squalid refugee camps scattered throughout Muzaffarabad and its vicinity.

Meanwhile, I remember our UK diaspora urging me to write an open letter to the then newly elected prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan in the summer of 2018. I explained at the time that the time was not right. We needed to assess his performance over a period of time before developing any meaningful communication.

Given the AJK government's inability or undesirability to make its communication with the Pakistani State open and public, particularly as to what has transpired in the past week or so, I think this is now the optimum moment to draft this open letter to the Pakistani prime minister. Our public's anxieties about the Pakistani State's intent with reference to the status of AJK have reached an unprecedented high.

Thus, it was about time that I uploaded the bulk of the discussion that took place at 'Taryabi ni Baithak' on the 19th of December 2019, based upon which some questions emerged from the audience; the answers of which will be incorporated into the latest People's Assembly document:

The DW interview with Pakistan's prime minister has generated a conversation, particularly in reference to Pakistan's position on Kashmir: 

Pakistan's official position has been that Kashmiris have the right to self-determination under the relevant UNSC Resolutions. But this time IK has categorically used the word independence and that too in relation to Azad Kashmir because the DW interviewer pushed him on that.

We are getting increasingly concerned at the witch-hunt being conducted by the AJK police in Muzaffarabad of public activists, under the watchful eye and mentoring of Pakistan's roving clandestine agencies.

Kamran Mughal who was most vociferous at raising slogans in favour of Jammu & Kashmir's independence on the Pakistani prime minister's visit is reported missing:

Kamran was last seen in this video made yesterday (the 14th of September):



It should also be noted that Kamran's brother and brother in law were also picked up by the AJK police under instructions from Pakistan's agencies yesterday morning. They were detained all day and reportedly tortured so that they may disclose the whereabouts of Kamran. In the evening they were released after civil society intervened.

Meanwhile, 21 year old Khwaja Mujtaba Bandey remains in custody while the 7 other detainees have been released. He and I spent a week together in Sharda this summer, even scaling the heights of Narda Lake at 15,000 feet. He is into his 3rd night of incarceration today:

The Pakistani State must be held accountable for creating friction between the AJK police and the public. For showing a 'strong hand' in Muzaffarabad where reports of torture under the instruction and supervision of Pakistan's roving agencies have emerged. Equipment of the earlier detained and released has been allegedly confiscated by them too.

As usual, the police and administration in AJK regret their helplessness in having to obey 'orders from above', from shadows that have no legal writ in this territory.

Meanwhile, this afternoon a meeting took place in Rawalakot between civil society and the Poonch administration in reference to the 37 activists. detained since the 7th of September. 

Here's a translation of the Urdu report on the discussion, written by Haaris Qadeer:

- The Gvernment has announced that it will withdraw all cases
- It has decided to unconditionally release the 'Freedom March' prisoners

Rawalakot - Mujaadala News 

The government has announced that it has withdrawn all cases against the participants of the Freedom March (and subsequent sit-in protest at Tithrinote on the 7th of September) and decided to unconditionally release all those detained. These decisions were made by a co-ordination committee headed by the minister of information (in the AJK Assembly) Mushtaq Minhas. 

This emerged after a 2 and a half hour discussion between representatives of the AJK government and a civil society delegation led by Chairman Liberation Front (JKLF) Sardar Muhammad Sagheer Khan Advocate. Amongst the government's representatives were Information Minster Mushtaq Minhas, local MLA Sagheer Chugtai, former minister Sardar Tahir Anwar, representative of JKPP (Jammu Kashmir People's Party) Asad Ibrahim and DG Political Affairs to prime minister Malik Zulfiqar. Others were present too whereas accompanying Chairman Liberation Front Sardar Muhammad Sagheer Khan Advocate were former presidents of NSF (National Students Front) Basharat Ali Khan, Tauseef Khaliq and journalist Haaris Qadeer. 

Prime minister Raja Farooq Haider also talked via telephone with Sardar Muhammad Sagheer Khan Advocate during the discussion. On the directions of the prime minister the government announced that it was withdrawing all cases and hence decided to release all prisoners unconditionally. 

SSP Poonch was reprimanded for his professional misconduct and it was decided that the government would form a departmental inquiry to investigate this matter. In consequence, Chairman Liberation Front (Sagheer Khan) decided to call off protests in other districts and announced that the ensuing protest in Rawalakot would convert itself into a welcoming rally (for the  Freedom March prisoners). 

Commissioner Poonch Choudhary Muhammad Raqeeb and Deputy Commissioner (DC) were also present on this ocassion, who upon the AJK prime minister's orders assured that they would immediately implement the instructions given.

City Police Station - Muzaffarabad is holding 8 public activists, for the crime of disagreeing to the Prime Minister of Pakistan making frequent visits to Muzaffarabad. They are also tired of listening to renditions of the 2 nation theory. They are yet more incensed at the Pakistani State pretending to be well-wishers of Jammu & Kashmir. 

Our Muslim neighbours to our West have the gall to criticise India for crimes in 2019 that they themselves have been committing in their controlled part since 1947. These are Muslim fascists criticising Hindu fascists for emulating their mindset.

This is not solidarity with us. 

This is something rather more sinister and our people have clocked on. Imran Khan's jalsa (convention) this afternoon in the capital of AJK was reportedly disrupted for over 40 minutes by chants of 'Kashmir Banega Khud-Mukhtar' (Kashmir will become independent). 

When the Indian prime minister visits the Indian controlled Valley, our people get arrested. Ditto for when the Pakistani prime minister visits the Pakistani controlled capital of AJK.

The Pakistanis get flustered whenever any of us compares them with India. They can be that hypocritical.

The public is incensed at this move by the Pakistani State to quell the freedom of movement in AJK. Reports of up to 3,500 members of the Punjab Constabulary (PC) and possibly Rangers too have been brought into Poonch division to stop our public from converging at the LOC in Tithrinote, Hajeera tomorrow. 

Both security and freedom in AJK are the prerogative of the AJK public. The mere presence of Pakistani security forces incites and provokes unrest in the local population. There is already a lot of bad history between the PC and Poonch from the 1950's.

While our public were on a mission to cross the LOC in Khuiratta, senior representatives of the Pakistani State were on a mission here too, on their Defence Day. This is Imran Khan's second visit to AJK since India's blockade of the Valley on August the 5th. He was met by his army chief and was accompanied by foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, defence minister Pervaiz Khattak and chairman Kashmir committee Syed Fakhar Imam:



Well, I did write about the proposed Pakistani army withdrawal from AJK beginning from tehsil Khuiratta on that very day in August when it seems all hell broke loose in Jammu & Kashmir. Day 217 of 2019 was the 5th of August.

I am trying to understand the Labour Party UK's apparent infatuation with UN resolutions. 

Was it not the British government ruled by the Labour Party that enacted the Indian Independence Act in their parliament? Did this Act not formalise transfer of power from British India to either India or Pakistan, broadly based on religious identity? Did not the princely States have an extra option to remain independent and where religious identity of the majority was not necessarily a determining factor? Is there not a universal tradition that the entity that enacts a law is also responsible for fully implementing that law?

While we were traversing through a chunk of AJK, our prime minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan was busy entertaining Pakistan's prime minister, who came along with a size-able entourage of other parliamentarians from that neighbouring country:

We have been reliably informed that the following 3 suggestions were put to Imran Khan and his team by Farooq Haider:

1) AJK be accepted as a sovereign state by Pakistan so that we could plead case of Kashmir as their representative Government.

2) No such solution of Kashmir is acceptable to us which involves division of State of Jammu & Kashmir in any manner.

3) If flag of Kashmir falls, next will be Pakistan. So Pakistan needs to back us by trusting us.

When AJK's President K. H. Khursheed made similar suggestions to Pakistan in 1961, he was gradually made to pay for them in many ways. Marginalisation from power politics and over a year in jail were just 2 of them.

The separatist movement in #GilgitBaltistan is as long as the separatist movement in #AJK. Both are further divided by the favorite occupier of the other side. The demand to open the route and demand for basic human rights can land you in prison for 90 years.

The 90 Years story started in 2010

In 2010 a natural disaster killed 19/20 people and wiped out a couple of towns from the face of the earth at #Hunza #Gilgit, over 6000 people were permanently displaced and about 30 thousand people of #Gilgit were affected.

This natural disaster at Attabad created an artificial lake now named #AttabadLake and the displaced people requested the authorities to demolish the artificial lake as it was increasing in size and it would take in some other towns with the passage of time.

In the end, the lake became 21 KM long and 109 metres deep. 

This #artificial lake still stands and another natural disaster can wipe out the whole valley.

When no solution was provided by the authorities, people of #GilgitBaltistan started #peaceful #protests. During the protest at Aliabad in August, the security forces opened fire on the civilians and killed a father and son.

The #SecurityForces with the help of the premier intelligence agency of Pakistan started raiding the houses of the people who started this agitation and accused them of being indian agents.

This story is just about one person so I'm going to leave all other separatists out of this discussion and I apologize for that too. 

This is the story of a man who received life imprisonment for 90 years from the Pakistani puppet courts in Occupied #GilgitBaltistan

Comrade #IftikharHusainKarbalai is a member of a #GilgitBaltistan separatist movement known as Karakorum National Movement who have the following very basic demands:

Independent constitutional assembly and judicial system for GB

=> which Paksitan has not given to any part of the Occupied Kashmir territory including #AJK and #Gilgit #Baltistan.

End of #CulturalGenocide, mega-dams, trophy smuggling, illegal hunting (this is done through army and white folks pay up to 100K USD for these hunts).

Royalty over #rivers, #glaciers, #forests, #minerals, and end damaging #Siachen, #Shimshal and #Khunjerab glaciers. Stop considering these places  as #weapons testing grounds.

End interference from china and open historical routes towards, #Ladakh, #Srinagar and #Badakhshan .

If #GB is part of #Kashmir why has Pakistan ended the State Subject Rule and why is Pakistan changing the demography of Gilgit Baltistan. Restoration of this rule is mandatory.  

Iftikhar Hussain was arrested when he was protesting the killing of a father and son by the security forces. During this protest, they were demanding to investigate the killing of innocent civilians and to end army-backed state terrorism.

After arrest, Iftikhar Husain was trialed and falsely convicted while a total of 71 years of imprisonment was handed to him by Pakistani Anti-Terrorism Courts.

Let me be clear Iftikhar Hussain has never carried nor preached to fight against army with guns. He believes the issue of #GilgitBaltistan is a political issue and should be resolved by dialogue and not with gun. Yet he still received 71 years of imprisonment.

Just to be clear. This is the story of one man, there are many others like him

After seven years, in an additional FIR another 19 years of #imprisonment was added onto his 71 years of Imprisonment. So, a total of 90 years of imprisonment is given for peaceful protests, demand for basic human rights and a chance to represent our own selves.
